Land of Corn
Well! I have moved West! Not quite the Grey Havens, but you get the idea :-) I've had quite a few new adventures since moving. Many of them involve my daily bike ride. It's pretty cool--I wake up and have an adventure before I even get to work! I miss my Steel Town friends like mad, though. I feel like I have no social life, which is totally not true, but I'm used to having every evening and every weekend filled with friends to the max. Some wise lady I live with (we'll call her Galadriel) suggested I get my car fixed (did I mention a friend gave me her old car?!) so I won't go crazy living in the middle of all these cornfields. She didn't use those exact words...but that's basically where I'm living :-) A Steel Town friend suggested I get Twitter...I think that's a good sign I should blog more. 'Specially considering I spend significantly less time on the internet in my new surroundings.

Argh! Stop the revealing location thing people!!! She uses pseudonyms for a reason!
As for the car, great idea. But only use it for 6 miles away or more, that way you can still enjoy the fun and exercise of the bicycle.
Sorry you feel like you have no social life though. Going to be honest, it'll take work, time and help from your friends who are already established though to get something even resembling what you had for years and years there. But you do already have several different people (besides me) who would love to hang out with you more.
Hmm, being on the internet less might be a good thing though... But you should still blog more!
The Stranger does need his Elvish connection....
Dt
yeah, about this not being on the internet more...don't forget your friends in the vast land of the web, k? because if you want to talk about lacking a social life I have an amazing first hand example!
Lisa~ My new job is a lot of fun! I hung out with a bunch of coworkers on Friday...crazy times.
ES~ You're correct. God is teaching me patience :-)
Stranger~ Don't be such a stranger, then! :-P Be free to contact me whenever you need.
Breka~ So sorry. Your planet may be censoring our communiques, perhaps? :-)
I am praying that God helps you settle in quickly. At least as settled as one can be this side of the "Grey Havens".
BTW - i am thinking my Elvish name will be: Luinon Râdîr
I won't be changing my blog layout though.
God bless Laedelas.
Samurai, cool name! What does it mean? I couldn't find anything about it on the internet. Blessings to you as well!
Luinon would be my "Father's" or first name... it means 'Blue One'... my favorite color is Cobalt Blue so...
Râdîr means 'Path Finder' --- "“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way (or path) is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." (Matthew 7:13-14, ESV)
I wish i could say exactly where i found the references. I came upon them while doing some background research for my (self proclaimed) novel. While researching how Elves are named (trying to come up with a name for one of the characters) i came across two articles. One was by a 'Rebecca Scudder titled Elf Name Generators. The other was on Wiki. Ms. Scudder's article was the most helpful and i am sure i found the link to a resource there.
i am feeling really geeky right now. LOL.
Haha! Embrace the geekiness...I mean, you are reading the blog of an elf! Your name has a great back story.
