Waiting For Daylight To Break...

I am restless, and am ignoring the packing that needs to be done. There's a lot I haven't said on this blog lately, though there's a huge draft waiting to be posted. Ahh. Writing, how I miss thee. Here are sundry things I'd like to mention before I head off to a huge conference.

One of my jobs (caretaking) has become a blessing. Through it, I've learned of my own incredible selfishness and how easy it is to get my blood boiling. Great! New ways to see God's work in my life! The job has gone from painful to refreshing. Thanks, God.

I quit the sub shop. For multiple reasons. I think I could be classified as a workaholic...

Rte. 19 was repaved recently, or at least the part between the malls was. I was the first to drive on the new concrete. It was like driving on silk. So cool, yet so expensive...

--Sounds like a good story behind those words

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what kind of post-Na posts to do. Looking forward to reading yours.

Yay! You're making fun of word-verification-things too?!

I think that roads and cars are ridiculous (even though I use them--I'm working on ways that I don't have to). Public transportation is so much better on so many levels...but still, driving by myself on a newly paved road was nice.

I was meaning to ask you about those word-verification-things... explain whatever there may be to explain about'em to me?

Lane, when you leave a comment on my blog (or Mike's), you're required to type letters into the "word verification" box so my blog doesn't get spammed with commenters. My letters, for example, were "apnnum." I can do two things with that:
1) make an acronym, such as "A Penguin's New Nose Understands Me." It doesn't always make sense, but 'scool :-P
Also, there's:
2) invent a definition, such as "the way people from the Deep South pronounce 'opening' when their mouths are full of fried chicken."

I tried not to think of something without breaking it into two parts, but it was a doozy for my first whack at it. Fun stuff :-)
